Privacy Policy

Mochi Journal ("the App", "we", "our") is built by Youcheng Si. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What We Collect
1.1 Data You Provide
- Memory entries — voice recordings, text notes, and photos you save inside the app.
- People cards — names and notes you add about people in your life.
- Settings — your preferences (language, dark mode, notification settings).
1.2 Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifying information.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not have user accounts — there is no signup, login, or password.
2. Where Your Data Lives
Almost all of your data stays on your device. Specifically:
- Local-only: memory entries, photos, voice recordings, people cards, and pet state are stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's standard data persistence APIs (UserDefaults and the file system).
- iCloud (optional): if you enable iCloud Backup in iOS Settings, Apple may include the App's data in your encrypted iCloud backup. We do not have access to that backup.
3. AI Memory Chat
The App offers an optional AI-powered chat feature ("AI Memory Chat") that lets you ask questions about your saved memories.
- When you send a message, the relevant pieces of your memories are sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini API) to generate a response.
- We do not store the conversation on our servers — your messages and responses are processed in transit and discarded.
- OpenAI's data usage is governed by their API data usage policy. As of this writing, OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models by default.
- You can use the App fully without ever opening AI chat — all other features work locally.
4. In-App Purchases
The App offers premium subscriptions ($3.99/month or $24.99/year) via Apple's StoreKit. Purchase, billing, and subscription management is handled entirely by Apple. We receive a confirmation that a purchase was made but do not see your payment details.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe your child has used the App, please contact us and we will help.
6. Your Rights
Because we do not have user accounts and your data lives on your device:
- Delete: uninstall the App or use Settings → Erase All Data inside the App.
- Export: the App provides an "Export to PDF / Markdown" feature for your memory entries.
- Access / correction: you can edit any memory entry directly in the App.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where required by law, notify you within the App.

- 不设有用户账户系统——无需注册、登录、密码。
2. 数据存储位置
您的绝大部分数据仅保存在您的设备上:
- 仅本地存储:记忆条目、照片、语音、人物卡片、宠物状态均通过 Apple 提供的标准数据持久化接口(UserDefaults 与文件系统)保存在您的 iPhone 上。
- iCloud(可选):若您在系统设置中启用了 iCloud 备份,Apple 可能会将本应用的数据加密备份至您的 iCloud。我们无法访问该备份。
3. AI 记忆对话功能
本应用提供可选的 AI 记忆对话功能,让您能用自然语言询问已保存的记忆。
- 当您发送消息时,相关的记忆片段会被发送至第三方 AI 服务(OpenAI 的 GPT-4o-mini API)以生成回复。
- 我们不在服务器上存储对话——您的消息和回复仅在传输过程中被处理,处理完毕即丢弃。
- OpenAI 对数据的使用受其 API 数据使用政策约束。截至本政策更新日,OpenAI 默认不会使用 API 输入数据训练其模型。
- 您完全可以不使用 AI 对话功能而正常使用本应用——其他所有功能均在本地运行。
4. 应用内购买
本应用通过 Apple 的 StoreKit 提供付费订阅($3.99/月 或 $24.99/年)。购买、扣费、订阅管理完全由 Apple 处理。我们仅会收到"购买成功"的确认信息,不会接触您的支付细节。
5. 儿童隐私
本应用并非面向 13 岁以下儿童设计。我们不会有意收集儿童的个人信息。如果您相信您的孩子使用了本应用,请联系我们。
6. 您的权利
由于我们没有用户账户体系且数据保存在您的设备上:
- 删除:卸载应用,或在应用内"设置 → 清除所有数据"。
- 导出:应用提供"导出为 PDF / Markdown"功能。
- 访问 / 修改:您可在应用内直接编辑任意记忆条目。
7. 政策变更
如果我们做出实质性修改,会更新本页顶部的"最后更新"日期,并在法律要求的情形下在应用内通知您。
